A smart, modular system that reimagines the dry bathroom
through compact design, integrated function, and cultural empathy.
Coming from a culture familiar with wet bathrooms, I experienced a new kind of discomfort while living in Europe,
where dry bathrooms are standard. Although the function is the same, the experience and habits are strikingly different.

In dry bathrooms, the ventilation outlet cannot be washed, so dust easily accumulates.
Shower glass walls leave visible stains if not wiped immediately, and corners that collect water quickly lead to mold.
Even the light and fan switches were confusing at first, small but constant inconveniences in daily use.

Ventoluce distributes the four essential functions, light, ventilation, humidity, and hygiene, across three compact modules.
The system redefines the dry bathroom experience by combining efficiency, comfort, and clean aesthetics.

A combination of ventilation and lighting was designed to resolve the "black hole"
aesthetic of typical vents. Added a UV sterilization lighting mode to enhance daily hygiene.
The design was developed with careful consideration of
both ventilation and lighting structures, including the
layout and dimensions of each component.
Layered surfaces were used as ventilation outlets,
merging the design with decorative CMF details.

Reimagined Switch
Inspired by audio mixers, the sliding switch was designed
to offer an intuitive interaction. Clear iconography allows
users to understand each function at a glance.
Explored the structure of the conventional
switch to bring a new visual language.
Its concave form enhances ergonomics,
making sliding gestures smooth and intuitive.
The three-dimensional buttons ensure
easy operation, even with wet hands.

Space Dryer
Inspired by hand dryers and building
window wipers, target shower walls
and corners where water tends to accumulate,
drying them quickly and conveniently.
The size and structure were designed
based on the component layout, integrating
both lighting and drying functions.
Side lighting supports
the main illumination
from the Vent Module.
A movable, rechargeable battery
is indicated by a subtle light.
The dryer module can be attached in two ways:
To the window, using a dual-part system
inspired by a magnetic window cleaner
To the wall, through a combined form
that adheres via suction pressure.
A curved body naturally conceals the dryer hole's
shadow within bright CMF tones, enhancing
aesthetics and providing a comfortable hand grip.
User Scenarios
🌙 Night
When you wake up in the middle of the night,
to go to the toilet, a gentle sliding up of the
Switch Module will not disturb your rest.
💧 After Shower
After a refreshing shower
the Dryer Module clears them
steamy glass quickly and automatically.
☀️ Daily Care
After using the bathroom, you can
activate the UV light mode, keeping the
space hygienic, free from hidden germs.
